Hiking at Bukit Tabuh

On the cool morning of 25th April 2009, around 20 of us who were eager to finally overcome a hill decided to climb Bukit Tabuh. Located in Ampang, Bukit Tabuh is the longest quartz dyke in the world. We gathered at the Petronas station Wangsa Maju and convoyed from there to the foot hill of Bukit Tabuh.

Snacks and mineral water were provided and we had some before the climb. It was a relatively challenging climb for a beginner as the hill was quite steep and one had to rely on good balancing in order to move up safely. It took about 1 hour to get to the top of the hill. A word of caution, do start your climb before 9a.m, or else it would be blazing hot up there. But the view was great; one could see KLCC, the Klang Gate dam, and most of KL. Coming down is a challenge too because you tend to skip instead of walking.

Everybody made it back in one piece, though was dead tired. Nevertheless, it was a great experience. After that, we treated ourselves at a famous nasi ayam place, food being the perfect antidote after a strenuous exercise.

Last but not least, enjoy the pictures!
